This week in 1923 a typography strike began in Amsterdam. On a much less consequential note, 96 years later, a certain graphic designer in Los Angeles (you get two guesses) pulled decorative elements from 1923’s “Specimen Book and Catalogue” published by the American Type Founders Company.
Now in the public domain but uploaded in raster format (PDF here), I identified and recreated about 100 ornaments and frames that could be useful to people seeking authentic design elements.
